Instructions

Hi everyone. Are you ready for a little bit of snark? And I mean that quite literally, because I’m sharing a tutorial for Artist Trading Coins using Dylusions Paints, Stencils and Stickers.

Step 1: Artist Trading Coins are 2.5” in diameter. I cut three of them (a punch is the easiest way), grabbed a variety of colors and ephemera and got started.

Step 2: For the first layer, blend two colors together. Make sure to use colors that are close in the color wheel, but not too close, so you can actually see a difference.

Step 3: The blending is rather easy. You start with one color and cover parts of your project. Go back and forth between two colors, until you have the coverage you want to achieve.

Step 4: Then you add the second color and blend it over the first one, just a little bit.

Step 5: Then you go back for layer two, I grabbed a variety of the small stencils and blended parts of the patterns through the stencil. Again, use colors that are close in the color wheel, but not too close, so they show up.

Step 6: Here too I blended two colors together.

Step 7: I like that the patterns kind of merge with the first layer, but not entirely.

Step 8: For layer three, I added more stenciled patterns and blended the last color that I used to the outside, as a border.

Step 9: One of the ATCs needed a bit more, so I stamped the leaf border in a grey ink.

Step 10: On to the final steps. First, I needed to pick a focal point. Take one of the canvas stickers and cut out the figures.

Step 11: A little bit of washi tape helped with grounding the shapes.

Step 12: As a little extra, I added a few white and black lines around the border and the washi tape. The sentiments are from the back chat set and are the perfect size for the ATCs.

All three together build a nice set of Artist Trading Coins, but work also on their own very well. I really enjoy the bright and cheery colors.
