Dylusions Never Too Old Journal Spread by Denise Lush

Follow along with Denise Lush as she shows you how to create this Dylusions Journal Spread that is full of shimmery movement. Then learn how to use the Dylusions Cutting Mat to create a peek-a-boo border that adds extra interest and dimension.

Instructions

I don't know about you guys, but I have become a little bit obsessed with Dyan's latest release! I haven't been able to stop playing in my Small Black Dylusions Journal with her new Shimmer Paints and Collage Sheets. So grab yours and lets have some fun!

Step 1: Using the Dylusions Cutting Mat, trace the wavy line around the perimeter of the journal. Do this again leaving a space of about 1/4" from the first line you drew.

Step 2: Erase some of the pencil lines to leave a gap between the set of horizontal and vertical lines.

Step 3: Using a craft knife and the Dylusions Cutting Mat, cut along the pencil lines you made in Step 2. This creates a cut out border around the pages.  This is why a space is left inbetween the set of horizontal and vertical lines. If we had cut it without leaving a gap, the outer parts of the pages would have just been completely cut off.

Step 4: Apply some Dylusions Shimmer Paint in Calypso Teal through the larger circles of the Dylusions Stencil Boulders. Then paint some of the smaller circles from the same stencil in Dylusions Shimmer Paint, Bubblegum Pink.

Step 5: Paint the pages behind the ones you are currently working on with Dylusions Shimmer Paint in Bubblegum Pink.

This is totally optional. You could choose to leave it unpainted and wait till you're ready to work on those pages. But if you do paint it, you already have some pages started for another playtime! It also really makes the border pop!

Step 6: Find these images from your Dylusions Collage Sheets, Collection 3 (or choose any images you wish). Cut them out and glue them to your page; cutting away any paper that extends down into your cut border.

Step 7: With a white gel pen or paint pen, loosely trace around the cut out border and stenciled circles.

Step 8: Choose a quote from the Dylusions Bigger Back Chat Stickers. The snarkier the better!

The ones being used in the picture shown read: "don't be ridiculous. a real woman is never too old"

Have fun creating your journal spread!
