Instructions

Sometimes it is fun to record a theme as the calendar year passes us by in our art journal pages. There is something specific to Valentine’s Day and the colors that go with it, that can be an exciting reminder of grade school parties and giving handmade cards to friends and family. Follow along to see how easy it is to create a holiday theme in your Dina Wakley MEdia Journal with the newest release!

Dina Wakley Valentine Journal Page Step 1

Step 1: Stamp images from both the Great Things Ahead and Remarkable stamp sets onto white cardstock. It is always a good idea to stamp more than you need so you will have extra on hand for future projects.

Step 2: Cut out all the images so you will have plenty to assemble your layout.

Step 3: Spray Rouge, White and Fuchsia Gloss Sprays onto your page leaving some white space. Allow them to blend together by lifting your journal and creating some gravity for them to “swim” across the page. If they seem like they are not moving too well, you can enlist a sprayer and spray some water on the outer edges for more spreading.

Step 4: Using some White Gesso, stencil the Mosaic Cobblestone pattern over your page. The white will create a more subtle background.

Step 5: Run the edges of your chosen text around the stamp pad to give it some shading so that it will stand out on your page.

Step 6: Play around with your cut out images and lay them out on your page. There are so many possibilities that make a fun spread. Once you are settled on your layout, glue down your images with Dylusions Glue Stick. Doodling is a fun way to add some extra definition to your page once you are done.
