Instructions
The new Metal Rimmed Tags are perfect for adding focal points to your journal spreads. Here we’ll add interest to the tags by playing with color and collage.
Step 1: Spray some metal rimmed tags with Gloss Spray. Colors used are Blushing, Cheddar, and Ancient.
Step 2: Using a 2” brush, paint a background. Colors used are Marine, Eggplant, and White Gesso. Next, using a Mini Blending Tool, add some stenciling. Turquoise is used here.
Step 3: Paint your accent color onto the back of some printed transparencies.
Step 4: Look through the Collage Sparks booklets for some contrasting colors. Rip out some pieces to use as collage, then cut out some of the painted transparencies. Staple together onto the metal rimmed tags.
Step 5: Search through the Typed Ledger papers for some interesting phrases and attach to the metal rimmed tags with Gel Medium.
Step 6: Attach some patterned transparency to your journal background with your stapler.
Step 7: Using a stapler, attach the decorated tags to the journal spread. Use gel medium at the bottom of the tag if you don’t want the tags to swing. Using White Gloss Spray, add some splatters across the pages.
This is such a fun and easy way to add focal points to your pages!
