Creative Fun with Dina Wakley Media Canvas Pages by Laura Dame

Unleash your free spirit on canvas! In this tutorial, Laura Dame creates a vibrant expressive journal page using the latest Dina Wakley Media stamps, collage papers, and stencils. The colorful bold rays and nature-inspired elements bring this page to life. Let this inspire you to go beyond the limits!

Instructions

The Dina Wakley MEdia Black Journal is back! Oh how I've missed these canvas and burlap pages. I couldn't wait to play with them and the newly released goodies, and I hope this gives you some inspiration to fill up your journal!

Step 1: Grab a couple pieces of cardstock and paint them with various acrylic paints. Let the papers dry.

Step 2: Add collage tissue in random places around the painted papers using Gel Medium or Ultra Thick Gel Medium.

Step 3: Find a canvas page in the Black Journal. Add some sunbursts to the top of the page using the Burst Circles Coaster. For these, I love to use a combo of Stoked, Mustard, and White.

Step 4: With the Fawn stamp set and black Archival ink, add some repetitive stamping to the canvas page and the painted papers. I like to have one or two bold stamped images with the lighter images overlapping in the background.

Step 5: Using the Alpha Masks stencil and a pencil, trace a phrase onto the painted papers and cut it out. Save the scraps to use as collage fodder!

Step 6: Add some boldness to the letters to make them pop by rubbing black Archival Ink along the edges.

Step 7: With Ultra Thick Gel Medium, add the phrase onto the canvas page. Cut out some animals from the Forest collage tissue and add them to the page as well. Finish it off by adding some White Gloss splatters.
