Glosses are the best and easiest way to create a bold splash in your art journal. Come get messy with me and play along!
Â
Step 1: With a palette knife or paint brush, apply clear Gesso to a page in the small Kraft Journal.Â
Â
Step 2: Using a dropper, add some Glosses to the page. Let them mix and swirl together. Here, Raspberry and Iris were used.Â
Â
Step 3:Â When the Glosses are nearly dry, spray some White gloss through a stencil onto the page. Turn the stencil over and imprint the stencil onto the page as well. Here the Squished Coaster stencil was used.Â
Â
Step 4: Pour some Cocoa gloss onto your craft mat or a piece of paper. With a jar lid, add some drippy circles to the journal page.
Â
Step 5: Spray a chipboard shape with a contrasting color of Gloss. Here, Malachite was used.Â
Â
Step 6: Using a tiny attacher/stapler, adhere a strip of the Typography Set 2 transparency to the page. Add the sprayed chipboard shape using Ultra Thick Matte Gel Medium.
Â
Step 7: Find a phrase on the Typography Set 2 transparency that speaks to you. Paint the backside of the phrase with White Gesso or Paint (I learned this technique from Claire Stead). Add the phrase to the page using Ultra Thick Matte Gel Medium.
