Instructions
- Lay a piece of 6 1/8” x 6 1/8” Sticky-Back Canvas on a Non-Stick Craft Sheet with the sticky side facing up. Center a 6×6 piece of chipboard on the canvas and press into place. Clip the canvas all around the edges to fray it. Use a Craft Scratcher and further distress the edges.
- Use the Ink Blending Tool and Foam to color the canvas with the following Distress Inks: Evergreen Bough, Barn Door, Vintage Photo and the Mustard Seed. Distress around the edges with Gathered Twigs followed by Black Soot.
- Using the Vagabond, die cut the Vintage Cabinet Card and the Mini Cabinet card together on a piece of plain Grungeboard (to make a frame). Save the Mini Cabinet Card cut out. Cut another Mini Cabinet Card out of manila cardstock and glue it on top of the Grungeboard Mini Cabinet Card. Stamp the sentiment from “Just Thoughts” onto the distressed manila cardstock. Color the images and sentiment using Distress Markers. Distress the edges with Vintage Photo, a hint of Gathered Twigs and then Black Soot just at the edges. Set aside.
- Brush Broken China Distress Crackle Paint on the Grungeboard frame. Spread with a mayonnaise consistency on the Grungeboard so that there will be lots of crackling when the paint dries. Let the Crackle Paint dry. Then lightly distress the frame with Black Soot Distress Ink on a blending tool and wipe away the excess with a paper towel.
- With a Design Ruler, center and mark three holes on the bottom of the frame. Pierce holes into the bottom of the frame using a Tonic Craft Pick and then place three Long Fasteners in the holes. Distress the Long Fasteners with a Texture Hammer. Then mark a hole at the center of the top of the frame. Using the small hole setting on the CropADile, punch a hole at the center top of the frame. Apply a touch of Glossy Accents and add the Foliage Leaves. Then screw the Curio Knob together, catching the leaves.
- For the ink bottle; apply ink to the stamp in this manner: apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the top portion of bottle, Barn Door Distress Ink on the label portion of the bottle and Jet Black Archival on the bottom portion of the bottle. Stamp onto the Art Part shaped like the bottle. *You can also stamp the image onto a piece of manila cardstock, cut it out and then glue it onto the Art Part. Distress around the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink. Use a Black Soot Distress Marker on the fine tip side to do the detail work on the label. Then smear Rock Candy Stickles over the label. Let dry.
- For the paint brush; ink the stamp using Sepia Archival Ink on the handle and Jet Black Archival Ink on the brush portion. Stamp onto a piece of manila cardstock and cut out. Distress the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink. Apply a piece from a Metal Foil Tape Sheet where the metal band would go on a paint brush; wrapping the metal band to the underneath side of the brush. Create detail on the band by using the large end of a rounded ball embossing stylus to create little “screws” and the smaller end to make lines at the top and bottom of the metal band.
- Ink the stars with sticks on the Celestial stamp set with Jet Black Archival Ink. Remove the black ink from the center of the stars with your finger. Then stamp the image onto the left side of the canvas. Add Gold Stickles to the center of all of the stars. Let dry.
- Hot glue the sentiment to the right side of the Sticky-Back Canvas 6×6 board. Place Pop it Shapes on the back side of the frame and lay it directly over the sentiment.
- Hot glue the ink bottle on top of the star sticks on the left side of the 6×6 board. Lay the brush down to see where the bristles of the brush will be. Remove the brush and paint a “puddle” using Broken China Distress Crackle Paint directly onto the canvas. Then paint some Broken China Distress Crackle onto the bristles of the brush. Let dry. Use Pop it Shapes to glue the brush in place.
