Hello crafty friends! Lieschen here, bringing you another fun tutorial using products by Simon Hurley. This month’s release is so much fun! I absolutely love all the new stamp sets! For today’s card, I’ll be using the new Spread Your Wings set – it has beautiful images and lovely encouraging sentiments! I hope you enjoy this tutorial as much as I loved making this card!
Â
Â
Step 1: Create an A2 card base out of Stark White Cardstock. Cut the 8½ x 11 cardstock down to 4¼ x 11. Then score at 5½. From the remaining extra 4¼ x 11 piece, cut it in half to make a front panel piece measuring 4¼ x 5½.
Â
Â
Step 2: On a piece of Stark White Cardstock, stamp one of the hummingbirds and the outline floral image from the Spread Your Wings stamp set. You can use Forget Me Not for the hummingbird and Leaf Green for the floral image. Both inks are from the Wendy Vecchi Mini Archival Ink Pad Kit 2. Then heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
Â
Â
Step 3: Once the images are heat embossed, fussy cut them or use a cutting machine to trim them. To color the floral image from Spread Your Wings, use Ranger Artist Brushes to color the flower with Slippery When Wet and Sike! ink and the leaves with Fake Plant and Viper inks.
Â
Â
Step 4: To color the hummingbird image, use Ranger Artist Brushes with Remember Me, Triple Berry, Tropical Tango, and Guppy inks.
Â
Â
Step 5:Â Die-cut an oval out of Stark White Cardstock. Then, use the Scene Maker stencil to add the sun and the clouds. Color the sun with Shooting Star and Slippery When Wet ink pads. Color the clouds with Breakup Blue ink pads.
Â
Â
Step 6: On the front panel piece, use the Backsplash stencil using Weeping Willow and Grrr! ink pads.
Â
Â
Step 7: Once the front panel is inked, use Wendy Vecchi Perfect Card Adhesive to glue it to the card base.
Â
Â
Step 8: Assemble your cut-out images and oval die cut. Place foam adhesive on all the pieces and tape them to the front panel piece.
Â
Â
Step 9: Heat emboss one of the sentiments from the Spread Your Wings stamp set on Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Cardstock Black Matte with white embossing powder. Use Perfect Card Adhesive to glue the sentiment on the front panel piece.
Â
Â
Step 10: Add Glossy Accents on the leaves, Unicorn Stickles on the middle of the flower, and a drop of Onyx Liquid Pearls for the eye of the hummingbird – all to draw the eye to fun shiny details.
Â
Â
Step 11: Pair the card with a colorful envelope, and it is ready to be mailed to a loved one! Â
