Instructions

Hi crafty friends! I hope you were able to check out Simon Hurley’s latest release! It is full of stamps and dies to make any fun crafty project. For today’s tutorial, I used the new Inspired stamps and dies to make my card. I hope today’s tutorial gives you inspiration to do something fun and creative today!

Step 1: Begin by creating an A2 card base out of Stark White card stock by trimming an 8½” x 11” piece of cardstock at 5 ½” and then scoring it at 4 ¼”. Next, trim two front panel pieces measuring about 4” x 5 1/4”.

Step 2: On the first front panel piece, ink the Brick background stamp with Shady ink. Next, place one of the front panels on the inked background stamp and use a brayer to apply pressure to get the image on the front panel piece.

Step 3: On a separate piece of card stock, stamp the two long paint strip images with Shooting Star, Prom Queen, and Triple Berry inks. Use a blending tool to blend in the colors on the stamp and remove any harsh lines.

Step 4: On the same piece of card stock (if there is enough room) stamp the bat image with Jet Black archival ink. Then, heat emboss with Clear embossing powder.

Step 5: Stamp one of the smaller paint swatch images with Shooting Star and Prom Queen inks. Use a detail blending tool to blend the colors and remove any harsh lines.

Step 6: Using a brush, color the body of the bat image using Shady ink and Piggyback for the ears. Next, use Weeping Willow, Shady, and Shooting Star inks to color the paint brush. Then, use Prom Queen ink to color the hat and the scarf.

Step 7: Use the coordinating dies to die cut the bat and the paint swatch images. Die cut extras for the bat and glue them together for dimension.

Step 8: On the other front panel piece, use low tack tape to cover part of the panel to be able to ink blend about an inch with Shady ink.

Step 9: Use the two long paint swatch coordinating dies to die cut part of the brick background to make it look like paint coming down the brick wall.

Step 10: Add foam adhesive to the back of the brick panel piece after die cuts have been made.

Step 11: Tape brick background onto the other front panel piece, glue the bat and paint swatches images. Then, trim off the excess.

Step 12: On a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Black Heavystock heat emboss the “Follow Your Dreams” sentiment from the Inspired stamp set with white embossing powder. Then, trim the sentiment and glue it to the front of the card.

Step 13: Stamp the “and don’t let anything stop you” sentiment inside of the card with Jet Black archival ink.

Step 14: Add Glossy Accents to the paint swatches images.

Step 15: Pair the card with a complimentary envelope. Now it’s ready to be sent to a loved one!
