Hello! I’m going to share an easy technique to step up your stenciled backgrounds by doing some simple doodling!
Step 1: Gather your supplies and cut a piece of Simon Hurley create. Stark White Cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5”.
Step 2: Temporarily adhere the Simon Hurley create. Pow! Stencil onto the cardstock and blend Simon Hurley create. Sike! and Guppy Dye Inks over the stencil.
Step 3: Use a black fine tip marker to outline the stenciled background. Don’t worry about perfection - doodles are whimsy!
Step 4: Add extra texture to the background by flicking on black and gold watercolor spatters.
Step 5: Use Ranger Archival Jet Black ink to stamp the bear and basketball hoop from the Simon Hurley create. Slam Dunk Stamp Set and watercolor the images using Simon Hurley create. Woof!, Grrr!, Traffic Cone, Later Gator, Game Changer, and Rosy Cheeks Dye Ink Pads.
Step 6: Use scissors to fussy cut the images leaving a small white border.
Step 7: Stamp a sentiment from the Simon Hurley create. Slam Dunk Stamp Set and fussy cut with scissors. Trim the stenciled background panel to 4” x 5.25”.
Step 8: Adhere the background panel, images, and sentiment onto an A2 card base and the card is complete!
