Hi crafty friends! I had so much fun making this birthday card using stamps, stencils, and neon paste with Simon Hurley’s products. I hope this tutorial gives you inspiration to do something fun and creative today!Â
Â
Step 1: Start by creating an A2 card base out of Stark White Cardstock. Cut the 8½ x 11 card stock at 5 ½, then score it at a 4 ¼. Cut another piece measuring about 4 x 5 ¼ to be your front panel.Â
Â
Step 2: On the front panel piece, use low tack tape to cover half of the front panel that will not be inked. Then, use Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART Stay-tion to hold in place the Sunrays stencils and ink blend with Sidewalk Chalk and Triple Berry inks. Then, use Piggyback to ink the spaces between the rays.Â
Â
Step 3: On a separate piece of card stock, stamp the image of the bunny holding a balloon from the Easter Bunnies stamp set with Jet Black archival ink. Then, heat emboss with clear embossing powder.Â
Â
Step 4: Use Woof!, Piggyback, and Sidewalk Chalk inks and brushes to color the stamped image.Â
Â
Step 5: Use the coordinating dies from the Easter bunnies set to die cut the image. Die cut extras then glue together for dimension.Â
Â
Step 6: On a separate piece of card stock, use the Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART Stay-tion to hold in place the Cake Maker stencil and ink the cake with Minty Fresh ink.Â
Â
Step 7: After inking the cake, ink the cake pedestal under the cake with Sidewalk Chalk ink.Â
Â
Step 8: Next, use Hot Mess Lunar Paste to apply the frosting using the Cake Maker stencil. Â
Â
Step 9: Once paste has dried, use a detail blending tool to ink a candle on top of the cake using the Cake Maker stencil and Clear Skies, Shooting Star, and Guppy inksÂ
Â
Step 10: Use scissors to cut out the cake.Â
Â
Step 11: Stamp a sentiment on front panel piece from step 2 using Jet Black archival ink.Â
Â
Step 12:Â Glue front panel piece onto card base. Next, add foam adhesive on the back of the cake and glue on the back of the stamped image. Then, glue/tape them on the front panel piece.Â
Â
Step 13: Add glossy accents on the balloon and the flame from the candle. Next, add Stardust Stickles on the stenciled background.Â
Â
Step 14: To finish the card, match it with a complimentary envelope and it is ready to be sent to a loved one!Â
