Hello everyone ! It’s Aida here today and I am back with a canvas project which I hope you will like. I’ve used manly Dina Wakely Media to create and the paints are wonderful in their buttery texture.

The title is Resilience and it’s die cut with mat board using the Tim Holtz Sizzix die.

Here you can see the layers and my intention was to show shadows of weeds and small wild flowers.

If you are ready, let’s begin !

Step 1: Work on a slightly damp canvas by spritzing lightly with water. Using a damp, broad brush, paint the canvas with Dina Wakley Media Sky. Dry with a heat tool.

Step 2: I’ve used the brush to paint on the white, and then my fingers to rub away any streaks.

Step 3: Here you see how the white has blended into the blue. Dry with a heat tool.

Step 4: Add Yellow to portions of the canvas. My brush was just damp and I used it to pull the paint up and down.

Step 5: Stamp randomly with a background stamp using Archival Coffee ink.

Step 6: Mix equal amounts of White and Gel Medium. The result will be a thicker, less opaque paint.

Step 7: Spread the mixture on to a Inking tool sponge and pounce lightly on to a stencil.

Step 8: Let the paint dry for a few minutes, then take a damp brush and gently stroke the stenciled image. This will soften the lines of the stenciled image.

Step 9: Squeeze a small amount of Umber and mix with a little white. The result is a warm light grey.

Step 10: Again pounce the same image layering it on top of the previous white image. Make sure to dry with a heating tool.

Step 11: Add another series of random darker grey images. Dry completely.

Step 12: Next I chose the title Resilience which is die cut from a mat board. It was painted with Umber and edged with Distress Paint Mustard Seed.

Step 13: Adhere the title on to a strip of mat board also painted with Umber. I decided to add that to the open space on the top of the canvas.

Step 14: For more texture, I added Distress Glitter to the title. To do this : squeeze Glossy Accents to the crevices in the letters and pour the glitter over the areas, then tap it off. Gently heat dry.

Step 15: Deepen the edges with Distress Inks as you like.
