Luck comes in many different forms but I'd argue that to be surrounded by fabulous friends and family is as lucky as one can possibly be. Let's keep thinking up ways to celebrate the people we love... with or without a specific occasion!
Step 1: Gather Materials: Ranger Embossing Powders in Red, Marigold, Green, Blue and Purple; Archival Inks in Emerald, Sea Grass, Vibrant Fuchsia, Sun Dazed, Beach Cruiser and Aubergine; Mercury Glass Stickles; Emboss It Clear Embossing Ink; Heat It Craft Tool; Simon Hurley create Background Stamps: Bitty Botanicals, Funky Chevron, Handwritten, Moroccan Tile and Plaid Builder; Tim Holtz Sign Painter Alphabet; Stark White Cardstock.
Â
Step 2: On a strip of Simon Hurley create Stark White Cardstock measuring approximately 2 x 7" stamp the Bitty Botanicals background in Clear Emboss It Ink. Sprinkle with Red Embossing Powder, tap off excess and return to the jar. Melt powder with the Heat It Craft Tool. Set aside and allow the panel to cool completely.
Â
Step 3: Using the method described in Step 2, stamp the Funky Chevron Background and emboss with Marigold powder.
Â
Step 4: Using the method described in Step 2, stamp the Handwritten Background and emboss with Green powder.
Â
Step 5: Using the method described in Step 2, stamp the Moroccan Tiles Background and emboss with Blue powder.
Â
Step 6: Using the method described in Step 2, stamp the Plaid Builder Background (arranged in a horizontal stripe pattern) and emboss with Purple powder.
Â
Step 7: Using a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Domed Foams, apply coordinating Archival Inks to each strip from Steps 1 through 6 as follows: Vibrant Fuchsia on Red; Sun Dazed on Marigold; Sea Grass on Green; Beach Cruiser on Blue and Aubergine on Purple.
Â
Step 8: Trim a piece of Stark White Cardstock to 5 x 7" and use Sea Grass Archival with the small solid heart from Letter It's Loves set to stamp four hearts, each pointing outwards, to make four leaf clovers all over the panel. On a small offcut of white cardstock, stamp a few additional clovers.
Â
Step 9: Cut the extra clovers out neatly with scissors and apply a small round dot of Mercury Glass Stickles to the center of each clover. Set aside on a flat surface and allow to dry completely.
Â
Step 10: Using Emerald Green Archival, stamp "LUCKY" with Tim Holtz's Sign Painter Alphabet. Cut out each letter neatly with scissors. Optional: Outline and add some small pen details with a black .01 Letter It Fineliner. Add a small accent of Mercury Glass Stickles to each letter.
Â
Step 11: Assemble: Trim the colorful embossed strips into fishtail flags of varying lengths and widths; Affix them to the top edge of the clover panel, as pictured. Trim a piece of white cardstock to 5 x 1.75" and stamp or write "SO" at the top lefthand corner, then mount "LUCKY" across the strip on small slivers of foam tape and adhere over the colorful flags. Scatter the loose clovers around the sentiment, cascading downwards. Add the completed design panel to a white A7 card.
Â
Step 12: Sign your card and mail ASAP to someone whose love and friendship makes you feel especially lucky!
