This card showcases the beautiful Tim Holtz Glorious Bouquet stamp set, water-colored in a soft and pretty Distress color combo of pink and brown, accented with shimmery touches of Ranger’s Perfect Pearls. I’ve got the full step-by-step tutorial, so let’s take a closer look.

Step 1: To create the base framework for this card, we’ll begin with a bit of die cutting. Trim down a sheet of Mixed Media Heavystock into two 4” x 5.25” panels. Place the largest die from the Stacked Postage die set in the center of one of the panels, and die cut. Remove the center postage stamp shape and set it aside. Repeat the process three more times with 4” x 5.25” pieces of scrap white cardstock. Set the postage stamp pieces of white cardstock aside for another project, and retain the outer frames. Nestle the two smallest rectangles together from the Stitched Rectangles die set, and hold them in place with a bit of purple tape. Die cut the frame once from the second piece of Mixed Media Heavystock paper, and three times from scrap white cardstock. Remove all the center pieces, and set them aside for another project.

Step 2: Dab Antique Linen, Tattered Rose, and Victorian Velvet Distress Inks onto a Non-Stick Craft Sheet. Spray the inks liberally with water using the Distress Sprayer. Working one at a time, press the two Mixed Media Heavystock frames into the inks. Twist the frames around a bit in the mixture, and then dry them both with the Heat-It tool. Repeat this process as many times as you wish to achieve the color you are going for.

Step 3: Before you clean up the leftover inks on your craft mat, trim a 3” piece of Idea-ology Linen Ribbon and swipe it through the ink, mopping up all the remaining ink from the mat. Set the ribbon aside to dry. Using Multi Medium Matte, stack and adhere the postage frames and the stitched frames together.

Step 4: Dab some Tattered Rose Distress Oxide onto the Craft Sheet and spray it lightly with water. Using the tip of your finger, spread a bit of Opaque Crackle Paste onto the edges and corners of both heavystock frame pieces. Dip your finger into the Oxide ink, and lightly swipe over the crackle paste. Set the frames aside to dry.

Step 5: When the paste is dry, apply Ground Espresso Distress Ink over the corners and cracks using a Mini Ink Blending tool with foam. Trim a 4.25” x 5.5” piece of Distress Cardstock. Using a sanding block, lightly sand the edges and corners of the cardstock, and then adhere it to a Perfect Cardstock white base. Ink the edges with Ground Espresso ink.

Step 6: Place the die cut postage stamp panel into the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform, and position the Glorious Bouquet stamp so that a section of the floral image will be stamped onto one side of the die cut. Ink the stamp with Potting Soil Archival Ink, and stamp the image onto the panel.

Step 7: To create a drop shadow, trace around the stamped image with a Hickory Smoke Distress Marker. Using a Ranger Artist Brush dipped in water, go over the marker lines to soften and blend them out. Dab Antique Linen Distress Ink onto the Non-Stick Craft Sheet. Using a large brush, watercolor the ink onto the background. Dry the paper with the Heat-It Tool. Press the panel into the ink to pick up some little droplets of color, and then dry the paper again.

Step 8: Watercolor the stamped image using Brushed Corduroy, Ground Espresso, Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany, and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks.
Place a small amount of Perfect Bronze Perfect Pearls onto the Craft Sheet, and spray it lightly with water. Mix the powder with the water, and then flick it onto the frames and the stamped panel.

Step 9: Pick up the powder mixture with the paintbrush, and apply it over the corners of the frames and a few areas of the stamped image.

Step 10: Adhere the outer postage frame to the center of the card using Multi Medium Matte. Adhere the stamped panel inside the postage-edge frame.

Step 11: Stamp a sentiment onto the top right corner of the floral panel using Potting Soil Archival ink.

Step 12: Wrap the linen ribbon around the left edge of the stitched rectangle frame, and tie it with a bit of hemp twine. Adhere the frame to the center of the stamped panel with the Multi Medium Matte.

Step 13: Using the tip of your finger, apply Picket Fence Distress Paint onto an Adornment bird charm. Let the paint set for a minute, and then lightly buff it with a clean cloth. Tie the charm onto the hemp twine, and trim the ends of the twine as desired.
