I’m so excited to play in the new Dylusions Dyalogs! The kraft paper is such a dream! I feel little is needed to make it look fabulous, which makes my job so easy. In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to create a pocket right in your Dyalog to place pieces you want to use on a spread. Or to tuck a note with a fabulous idea for a page! Because if you’re like me, you forget these things.
Step 1: With the kraft Dyalog opened up to the first page, draw a line using the wavy edge of the Dylusions Journaling Block roughly in the middle of the page.
Step 2: Using the Dylusions Cutting Pad and a knife cut along this line. (The halves have been labeled for future reference.)
Step 3: You will need rip out a page from the and cut two strips of paper. One measuring at ½” X 4 ¼” (or the height of the ‘Bottom Flap’) and the other measuring ½” X 4”. Score down the middle of these strips of paper and fold.
Step 4: Apply glue on one side of the folded strips that you made in Step 3.
Attach the ½” X 4 ¼” folded strip along the outside edge, and the ½” X 4” folded strip along the bottom of the ‘Bottom Flap.’ The folded edge of the strips will be on the outside of the page. Also make sure you are gluing it to the side of the flap that when closed will stick to your cover.
Step 5: Apply glue on the other side of the strips and attach the ‘Bottom Flap’ to the inside of the Dyalog Cover. This creates a pocket.
Step 6: Add some doodles to the pocket to make it is your own. Here the Dyalog stencil Frame It has been used to create a border. Then a stamp from Creative Dyary Set 2 to add a label on the pocket. This label says Hold This!
Step 7: Now it’s time to decorate the ‘Top Flap.’ Here another border was used from the same Dyalog stencil Frame It and a hand-lettered quote which reads “Life Tip – Stop Expecting.”
Step 8: Stamp and cut out the images shown in the picture, from the stamp sets She Sells Sea Shells and Stripy Curlicues. A Jet Black Archival Ink was used for these stamped images.
Step 9: Arrange the stamped images along the bottom edge of the ‘Top Flap’ and glue them to the back of that page.
Final Words:
Now you have a pocket to hold things you don’t want to lose or forget! How convenient!
You have also created an interesting half page with the remaining top half! I told you the kraft paper needs very little to look great!
