I am so excited about this new journal that Dyan has released! It's the best of everything! It has her usual lovely mixed media paper, plus her fabulous black paper and now kraft paper!!! How awesome is that! I just couldn't wait to play in this journal. I do hope you join in the fun.
Step 1: For this tutorial you will need 2 kraft pages, side by side to create a 2- page spread in the Dylusions Classics Journal. To start, find the large hexagons sheets from Dylusions Collage Sheets, Set 3 and/or 4 and cut some of them out.Â
Â
Â
Step 2: To create more hexagons use the Dylusions stamp set A Heck of Hexies and the Dylusions Dyalog Stencil Quilt It.
Â
Â
Step 3: Using the hexagons from the collage sheets, the stamps and the stencil, play with the placement of how you would like the pattern of hexies to look.
Â
Â
Step 4: Using an exacto knife and Dylusions cutting mat, cut out the hexagons that were traced using the Quilt It stencil. Also stamp some hexagons from the Heck of Hexies stamp set with Jet Black Archival Ink. The black ink pops beautifully against the kraft paper.
Â
Â
Step 5: Find these images (or images of your choosing) from the Collage Sheets, sets 2, 3 and 4.
Â
Â
Step 6: Glue all the collage images down. Here is an example of a layout using all of the items.Â
Â
Â
Step 7: Stencil a border around the perimeter of the pages, (skipping over the collage and stamped images) using the Dylusions Dyalog Stencil, Stitch It and Dyan's new Shimmer Paint colors Cut Grass and Funky Fuchsia.
Â
Â
Step 8: With the Dylusions Journaling Block, draw some journaling lines and write a quote or do some journaling using a black and/or white paint pen. Â
Â
Â
Step 9: You can also use your paint pens to doodle around the collage images and stamped border as done in this picture. It really does finish off the page!
Can't wait to see the pages you create in Dyan's new journal!
