Hello there crafty friends! It’s Cheiron Brandon and I have a new tutorial for you featuring the newest colors of seasonal Distress Crayons. Today I am using the Halloween color sets #5 and #6 to create a trio of notecards perfect for saying thank you during the fall season. They would be great to make a whole set of these for a hostess gift too!Â
Â
Step 1: Gather your supplies. I used Distress Watercolor Cardstock, Distress Texture Paste Opaque, Distress Collage Medium, Distress Crayons Halloween Set #5 and #6, Distress Oxides in Villainous Potion, Crackling Campfire and Ground Espresso, the Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Berry Leaves and Note Quote Stamps. Â
 Â
Step 2: Cut 3 panels of Distress Watercolor Cardstock to 3 ¼ x 4 ¾ and apply Distress Texture Paste using a Palette Knife. Â
Â
Step 3: Use your palette knife to remove any paste hanging over the sides of the panels. Let the panels dry completely. Â
 Â
Step 4: Once your texture paste is dry, apply a thin layer of Distress Collage Medium over all of the panels and let dry completely. This will allow the crayons to blend more easily over the surface. Â
Â
Step 5: Color your panels by adding color using the Distress Crayon. I like to blend them with my finger, I also use a baby wipe nearby to dampen my finger and make the color move even more around the paper. Â
Â
Step 6: Continue building layers and blending until you achieve your desired look. I tried to use all of the colors to get different looks. Â
Â
Step 7: When you are done blending your panels, ink the edges of each one with Black Soot Archival Ink using a foam blending tool. Â
Â
Step 8: Adhere the panels to a 3 ½ x 5 notecard and choose colors to stamp your sentiments. I used Ground Espresso, Crackling Campfire and Villainous Potion. Â
 Â
Step 9: Stamp the circle and the sentiment in each color using the Note Quotes stamps. Â
Â
Step 10: Cut out your sentiment and some leaves in coordinating colors to go with your card. Â
Â
Step 11: Adhere the sentiments and leaves with Distress Collage Medium and let dry. Â
I hope you had fun creating these cards with me today. I love the look and texture you get with these Distress Mica Crayons on top of texture paste and hope you will too!
