The boldness of printed transparencies can really add interest and multi-dimensional effects to your journal pages. The clear spaces allow what is underneath to peek through, and the imagery can layer on top of color. Follow along to see how we created this spread with the new Dina Wakley MEdia Transparencies.
Â
Â
Step 1: Randomly paint some loose shapes along the borders of your pages with Acrylic Paints. Here Turquoise, Cheddar and Fuchsia were used because they pop against the kraft pages. Allow to dry before next step. Â
Â
Â
Step 2: Cut out various shapes from the Transparencies to add on top of your color fields.Â
Â
Â
Step 3: Holding your journal upright, spray from the top of the page with Black Acrylic Spray to create drips. Â
Â
Â
Step 4: Using Ultra Thick Gel Medium, glue the transparencies over the color fields.  Â
Â
Â
Step 5:Â Stamp a face from the Half Faces Stamp Set onto some scrap paper with Archival Ink. Here, a color scrap was chosen that coordinated with the color scheme of the spread.Â
Â
Â
Step 6: Cut out a phrase or two from the Typed Ledgers to add to your journal spread. Glue down the phrases and face with Ultra Thick Gel Medium. Â
Â
Â
Step 7:Â (Optional) Add some doodles with paint pens or brushes in coordinating colors to your page to add more interest. Paint pens can be used on the transparencies, just allow to dry completely.
