InstructionsÂ
The new Dina Wakley Media Art Cards Deck is the perfect thing to get me going when I’m not sure where to start. Look through the cards, find one (or a few!) that inspires, and start creating!
Â
Step 1:Â Look through the Art Cards deck and pull out cards that resonate with and inspire you.Â
Â
Step 2:Â Apply some clear gesso to pages in your Small Kraft Journal.Â
Â
Step 3:Â Pull color inspiration from the cards that you chose. With a larger brush, swipe some paint across the pages. Here, Cheddar and Fuschia were used.Â
Â
Step 4: Pulling some shape inspiration from the cards, scribble in your journal with a scribble stick. Dip it in some water first to activate the color and let it glide easier around the page.
Â
Step 5:Â With a Mini-blending tool and White paint, add some stenciling to the pages.
Â
Step 6:Â Â Stamp some botanical images on ledger papers (these can be your own or some Typed Ledger Papers) and cut them out.Â
Â
Step 7:Â Add images to your journal pages with Heavy Gel Matte Medium and/or a stapler. Here I added an image from the new transparency collection as my focal point and used the botanical images and Typed Ledger Papers as support. Add words or a phrase to your focal point, perhaps thinking about the words on the Art Cards.Â
Â
Step 8:Â Add some splatters to your pages with Glosses. Again, pull color inspiration from the Art Cards you chose from the deck.
