Instructions

1. Create a large background using Archival reinkers, making sure to heat dry each layer, when using Specialty Stamping Paper.

2. After creating a large background, cut the archival reinker background to 4 x 5 1/4 inches.

3. Use Watermark Resist on a blending tool, to stencil thru the checkmate stencil, randomly across the top & right side. Sprinkle with Weathered White Embossing Powder and heat to emboss.

4. Position the stencil as shown and use Leaf Green to stencil the leaves. DRY.

5. Reposition the leaves portion of the stencil over the stenciled leaves & stamp thru the openings with Leaf Green, using one part of the collage background stamp.

6. Position the flower portion of the stencil, so that the leaves are all covered. Use Tree Branch to stencil the flower & dry. This creates the perfect shadow for the flower.

7. Use portions of the vintage floral stencil, with fern Green, to add the berries in 2 areas as shown.

8. Cover a piece of Clearly for Art (CFA) with a vintage dictionary page. Apply Glue N Seal to the CFA, add the paper, brayer & dry. Use Jet Black to stamp the flower on the paper side, dry, then ink the flower with Tree Branch. Use the Wild Honey Distress marker to color the flower center. Cut out the flower, heat to soften the CFA And shape the flower while warm.

9. Use Tree Branch with the Add a Stencil to add random stenciling to the background.

10. Use Gathered Twig distress ink to add shading to the edges.

11. Use Jet Black to stamp the lace border at the top and bottom.

12. Use Jet Black with the mini blending tool to stencil the word on the right side.

13. Cut Kraft Cardstock to 9 x 5 1/2 inches and score to create a card. Use Jet Black to Stamp the lace close to the card bottom. Round bottom corners.

14. Adhere Specialty Stamping Paper to card base.

15. Glue the CFA flower over the stenciled flower and add a vintage button center.

16. Die cut the bird from a scrap of CFA, covered with vintage dictionary. Ink the bird with Barn Door and Antique Linen Distress inks. The mini blending tool is perfect for small pieces. Ink the legs and beak with the Brushed Corduroy marker.

17. Glue the bird in place on the right side of the card.

18. Add pen stitching detail on the card sides.

Things to note:

1. The magic coating on the Specialty Stamping Paper slows down the drying of all inks. ALWAYS dry each layer before moving on to prevent smearing.

2. Weathered White Embossing Powder is textured and matte finish, making it perfect for vintage art.

3. Using just the stencil portion of the Stamp it- Stencil it (SiSi) creates the perfect shadow for the flower. There’s no outline from the stamp.

4. Clearly for Art can be reheated and reshaped many times and it will always return to flat.

5. Rubbing alcohol will remove the Archival Inks from stencils easily.

6. The Archival reinker background technique does not work on watercolor cardstock or manila cardstock. Use Specialty Stamping Paper.
