Instructions
(1) Spray a piece of dressmaker’s pattern tissue with Mini Mister containing water, followed by Terra Cotta Color Wash. Rinse carefully as the wet tissue is very fragile. Dry with Craft Tool.
(2) Use a foam brush to collage torn pieces of the dyed tissue onto the surface and sides of a 4″ x 4″ canvas with gel medium. Don’t worry about wrinkles in the tissue as this creates a nice textured effect.
(3) Tear a piece of old dictionary page and collage with gel medium onto the upper right corner of the canvas. Set aside to dry.
(4) Paint a grungeboard swirl with Snow Cap Paint Dabber. Dry with Craft Tool and then brush on a coat of Terra Cotta Dimensional Pearls. When dry, adhere to the right side of the canvas with Glossy Accents.
(5) Spritz two medium-sized white silk flowers with Mini Mister containing water, followed by Terra Cotta Color Wash. Blot with a paper towel until a pale peach color is achieved. Dry with Craft Tool and set aside.
(6) Use Terra Cotta dye inkpad directly to apply ink onto one large white silk flower. Sprinkle with Terra Cotta Embossing Powder. Tap off excess powder and return to jar. Emboss with Craft Tool. Allow to cool before handling.
(7) Punch three different small flower shapes from thin copper metal.
(8) Use Felt Applicator to apply Terra Cotta Alcohol Ink and Gold Metallic Mixative to the punched copper shapes. Allow the alcohol inks to dry thoroughly and then glue one shape to the center of each silk flower using a small dab of Glossy Accents.
(9) Add a self-adhesive rhinestone to each flower center.
(10) Use Glossy Accents to attach the large flower to the bottom left corner of the canvas and place the remaining flowers to the top and side using foam tape.
(11) Spritz a small scrap of watercolor paper with water from the Mini Mister and Terra Cotta Color Wash. Blot with a paper towel and dry with Craft Tool.
(12) Stamp “Creative” using small alphabet stamps (Hero Arts Printer’s Lowercase LL762) and Terra Cotta dye inkpad. Sprinkle with Terra Cotta Embossing Powder. Tap off excess powder and return to jar. Emboss with Craft Tool.
(13) Press metal bookplate onto the clear side of the embossing inkpad. Sprinkle with Terra Cotta Embossing Powder. Tap off excess powder and return to jar. Emboss with Craft Tool. Allow to cool before handling.
(14) Adhere stamped title behind the bookplate with a dab of Glossy Accents and adhere to the top of the grungeboard swirl with foam tape.
(15) Use the Blending Tool and Foam to ink a tiny tag with Terra Cotta dye ink and Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Set a gold eyelet into the top of the tag and write “spirit” with brown pen.
(16) Add the tiny tag onto a length of waxed linen thread. Thread the linen through the bookplate holes and wrap around the canvas and securing in the front.
(17) Working on the Non-Stick Craft Sheet, use Felt Applicator to apply Terra Cotta Alcohol Ink and Gold Metallic Mixative to a length of beaded chain and a vintage drawer pull. Allow the inks to dry thoroughly.
(18) Glue the drawer pull to the top of the canvas using a strong craft adhesive. Allow adhesive to cure before adding the bead chain to the top as a hanger.
