Instructions
Step 1: Using your stamping block, stamp out one of the balloon images from ‘Bestest Friends.’ Stamp another on a piece of masking paper or full sticky post it note – cut this out and place it over the first balloon you stamped. Then, move the balloon over and stamp again. Repeat this once more (or as many balloons as you’d like!).
Step 2: Stamp the body image from ‘Dudes Too!’ so that it looks like he’s holding on to the balloons. Then, stamp the head image as well. You can choose whichever head you like best for this! Color in the stamped images using your color medium of choice – you can use alcohol markers, colored pencils, or even watercolor using the Simon Hurley create. Dye Ink Pads and a paint brush.
Step 3: Once your coloring is complete, you’ll want to create your background. Here’s another choose your own adventure moment – you can use dye inks to blend out a background, markers to color one, or any other medium you feel comfortable with. This background was created with Alcohol Markers.
Step 4: Once you’re happy with the background, it’s time to make it look like a super cool space scene. Adding the stars really brings it all together. To do this, get a bottle of the Glacier White Enamel Accents and put a little on your Craft Sheet. Spritz it a few times with the Distress Sprayer and then swirl it around a bit with the Splatter Brush. Once it’s fairly liquidy, pinch the bristles of the brush and let them go repeatedly over your project. Experiment with different placement when you pinch, how fast or slow you let the bristles go, and the direction you point the brush at your project. All of these will change the way your stars turn out. Feel free to experiment on scrap paper before you take it to your project!
Step 5:
Grab a piece of black cardstock and treat it with the Anti-Static Pouch. Use Perfect Medium as an embossing ink and stamp out ‘you’re outta this world’ from ‘Space Training.’ Pour White Embossing Powder from Ranger on top and dump off the excess. Use your Heat Tool to melt the powder and then trim your strip down to size. You can trim the inside edge at an angle to give it a little added interest.
Use foam tape to pop the sentiment strip up on the card front. You can also pop up your entire card front if you’d like to! Mount your card front to a white A2 sized card base (4.25in x 5.5in).
Now you have an ‘out of this world’ card to send for whatever special occasion comes your way.
