Upcycled Crossbody Bag by Teresa Natividad

Instructions
Step 1: Cut the pant legs off of the jeans and set the leg pieces aside to use later. Turn the remaining piece inside out.Using the Dina Wakley Ultra Thick Gel Medium, glue the bottom inch of the of the denim piece closed. Once dry, turn right side out. Meanwhile, tear the pant legs into strips of fabric. Braid and glue two sets to make a longer braid as the bag handle.
Step 2: Put a piece of cardboard inside the bag in case any of the paint goes through the denim. Tape the Dylusions Arrows Stencil to one side on the front and apply Tangerine Dina Wakley Paint through the stencil with a makeup sponge.
Step 3: Repeat on the other side of the front.
Step 4: Once dry, turn the bag on the other side. Tape the Dina Wakley Honeycomb Stencil to a pocket and apply Lemon Dina Wakley Paint through it. Repeat on the other pocket and let both dry.
Step 5: Once dry, use the same stencils to trace select images with the Letter It Black Fineliner Pen. Do this on the front and back.
Step 6: Put one end of the braid through a belt loop and apply Dina Wakley Ultra Thick Gel Medium, hold the braid loop in place with a Dina Wakley Media Journal Clip. Repeat with the other end of the braid. Let dry and remove clips.
