Instructions
Step 1: Let’s get started. Working on the bumpy/textured side, take a sheet of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Swirl some color using Stormy Sky Distress Oxide with a foam blending tool onto Watercolor Cardstock. Only cover a little more than 1/4 of the sheet. Now swirl some Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide with a Foam Blending Tool right next to previous color. To give your card panel a little distressed look. Spritz a little water onto the colorized panel. Squeeze the trigger of the Distress Sprayer gently to release larger droplets of water onto panel. Then dry with Ranger Heat it Craft Tool.
Step 2: Again, working on the bumpy/textured side, take a second sheet of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Swirl some color using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide with a Foam Blending Tool onto Watercolor Cardstock. Cover 3/4 of the sheet. Now swirl some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide with a Distress Blending Brush right in the center of the previous color. The Distress Blending Brush will not leave any harsh lines when blending in such a concentrated area. To give your card panel a little distressed look. Spritz a little water onto the colorized panel. Squeeze the trigger of the Distress Sprayer gently to release larger droplets of water onto panel. Then dry with Heat Tool.
Step 3: Die cut the Ice Flake from darker colorized panel and the Flurry #2 snowflake from the lighter colorized panel. Grab some Ranger Foil Sheets, I used the silver from the Basics pack. Swipe some glue onto the darker snowflake using the Ranger Mini Collage Glue Stick. Then immediately apply the dull side of foil sheet to glue and rub with finger. Lift the foil sheet after a few seconds and silver foil will remain on glued surface.
Step 4: Repeat the foiling step on lighter Flurry snowflake. Adhere the lighter blue snowflake to darker blue snowflake using Ranger Clear 3D Adhesive Foam. I really love this clear foam adhesive! It’s super sticky, completely clear, 3D and you can cut it into really small pieces for intricate shapes!
Step 5: Take another sheet of Distress Watercolor Cardstock and lightly mist with water on front and back. Place in Lumber 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folder and run thru your die cutting machine 3 times. That will give the most texture to the wood look. Then dry Watercolor Cardstock with HeatTool. Apply 1 drop of Pumice Stone Distress Paint to Non-Stick Craft Sheet. Then roll small brayer thru the paint till coated. Now roll wet brayer over raised portions of wood panel. Dry panel with Heat Tool.
Step 6: Repeat the brayer step with a couple of darker colors. I chose Hickory Smoke and a tiny bit of Black Soot. A little of the Black Soot goes a LONG WAY. Notice in the picture I used a toothpick to apply a very small dot and that was plenty.
Step 7: Fill Stampers Anonymous Glitter Duster about 1/2 full with Distress Stickles Dry Glitter-Clear Rock Candy. If you haven’t tried Distress Resist Spray, it’s really a lot of fun. Take the wood panel and place inside a spray box. I use a spray box, because whatever the Distress Resist Spray is sprayed on (including overspray)…it’s not coming off once dried. Lightly mist the wood panel with the Distress Resist Spray about 6 inches. Wipe the nozzle when you’re done so it doesn’t clog, for next time. Now take the glitter duster and dust the glitter over the entire surface of wood panel. It’s hard to see in the photo, but it has a beautiful sparkle! The Distress Resist Spray dries clear and you don’t lose any detail of the wood panel.
Step 8: Repeat step 7 with layered snowflake.
Step 9: Stamp the sentiment “Thinking Of You” using Letter It Embossing Ink Pad onto a small strip of Black Cardstock. Then cover stamped image with Ranger White Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Shake off excess and return to jar. Then use Heat Tool to melt embossing powder.
Step 10: Trim down sentiment and cut < > into each end, to create a banner using scissors. On a scratch piece of paper, lightly sand an idea-ology Classic Kraft Cardstock panel to expose underlying kraft. Layer a kraft card base with pink/kraft panel, then wood panel using favorite adhesive.
Step 11: Use more Clear 3D Adhesive Foam to adhere the layered snowflake and sentiment to the wood panel.
I do hope you give this a try! The combination of the 3D embossing, along with the foiling and glittering really make for a beautiful card…so much texture and sparkle!
