Instructions
Hello crafty friends! I’m so excited to share with you the card I made using a couple colors of the new Lunar Paste and the Pirate Party stamp set!
Â
Step 1: Use a trimmer to create a slimline card base out of Stark White Cardstock. Slimline measurements: 8½ x 7, score at 3½. Cut another piece to create a front panel measuring 3¼ x 8¼.
Â
Â
Step 2: On the front panel, color blend the background with a Blending Tool using Midnight Snack, No Diving, and Breakup Blue Simon Hurley ink pads.
Â
Â
Step 3: On a separate piece of Stark White Cardstock stamp the images from the Pirate Party stamp set with Jet Black Archival Ink. Then heat emboss them with Clear Embossing Powder.
Â
Â
Step 4: Cut the images leaving a white border, if possible.
Â
Â
Step 5: Color the little pirate from the Pirate Party stamp set using brush #2 from the Ranger Artist brushes with the Viper, Woof!, Shooting Star, Clear Skies, Midnight Snack, Remember Me, Grrr!, Slippery When Wet, and Bee Sting Simon Hurley ink pads.
Â
Â
Step 6: Use Grrr! and Woof! Simon Hurley ink pads to color the treasure chest image from the Pirate Party stamp set. Add Brilliant, Sunflower, Key Lime, and Carnation Red Liquid Pearls for dimension in the treasure chest image.
Â
Â
Step 7: Color the pirate ship from the Pirate Party stamp set using brush #2 and #4 from the Ranger Artist brushes with the Bee Sting, Slippery When Wet, Clear Skies, and Grrr! Simon Hurley ink pads.
Â
Â
Step 8: On the inked front panel use one of the ovals from the Whimsical Ovals stencil and apply Tropical Tango Lunar Paste with Simon Hurley Create Paste Tool Set. Use Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion to help hold cardstock and stencil in place.
Â
Â
Step 9: When Step 8 is finished and the paste has dried, use another oval from the Whimsical Ovals stencil and apply Roar! Lunar paste with Simon Hurley Create Paste Tool Set on top of the larger oval.
Â
Â
Step 10: Use Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink Pad Watering Can to stamp the shark images from the Pirate Party stamp and use clear embossing powder on the images. Also stamp the compass rose image with Emboss It Clear and heat emboss it with White Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder.
Â
Â
Step 11: Trim and glue a piece of foam sheet behind the front panel with Wendy Vecchi Perfect Card Adhesive.
 Â
Â
Step 12: Stamp two sentiments from the Pirate Party stamp set on Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Cardstock Black Matte and heat emboss them with White Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Then trim each of them.
Â
Â
Step 13: Place foam tape behind the cut out images and sentiments. Then place the images on the front panel.
Â
Â
Step 14: Once you have placed the images on the front panel, use a white gel pen to draw small waves in the background.
Â
Â
Step 15: Use Glossy Accents to add dimension to the pirate ship and the little pirate’s sword.
Â
Â
Step 16: Pair the card to a slimline envelope and send to a friend to remind them you treasure their friendship!
