Instructions
Step 1: Trim the Simon Hurley create. Stark White Cardstock to 4.5” x 4.5”. Next, cut the light gray cardstock to 2-3/4”x 3-1/4”. Finally, cut the taupe cardstock into 9-1/2” x 4-3/4” and score it at the 4-3/4” mark.
Step 2: Smoosh the Rosy Cheeks Ink onto the Ranger Non-Stick Craft Sheet and lightly mist with a Distress Sprayer filled with water. Then take the Simon Hurley Cardstock that you cut in Step 1 and smoosh it into the ink on the mat. Repeat this step four times; heat setting in between each time.
Step 3: Ink up the Splinter Background Stamp with the Archival Ink Shadow Grey and press the light gray cardstock into it.
Step 4: Pick three large flowers from the Simon Hurley Doodle Florals Stamp Set and assign each one a color of Sidewalk Chalk, Over the Moon and Clear Skies. Stamp each base of the flower in the colors you chose. Heat set then sporadically ink up the base again and repeat stamping (to create a textured look).
Step 5: Take the overlayers for each flower and line them up on the flower images you just stamped. Find the sweet spot. Then stamp in the Archival Ink Shadow Grey. To finish this step, fussy cut each flower out.
Step 6: Take the bear from the Simon Hurley Space Training set and stamp it in Jet Black Archival Ink.
Step 7: Ensure the ink from Step Six is dry (heat set if necessary). Smoosh the Simon Hurley Grr! and Rosy Cheeks Ink Pads onto the Ranger Non-Stick Craft Sheet. Take a small paintbrush and add a layer of water onto the bear image from Step Six. Add the Rosy Cheeks Ink to the inside of the bear’s ears. Then add Grrr! to the paintbrush and watercolor the bear; only leaving the muzzle of the bear white. Finally, water down the Grrr! Ink and lightly watercolor the inside of the bear’s snout. Next, fussy cut out the image.
Step 8: On a scrap of the taupe paper you cut, use a Black Fine Liner and thinly letter the phrases Happy Mother’s Day and Mama Bear. Then cut out the sentiments into thin strips using a paper trimmer.
Step 9: Assemble the card in the order that you executed the steps, using foam tape or adhesive for each layer.
Step 10: Add Glossy Accents to the bear’s nose and eyes and three drops of Stickles on the textured pink background along the edges of the gray card stock.
