Silhouette Stamping by Laura Volpes

Wendy Vecchi Blendable Dye Inks are ideal for blending backgrounds to create scenic inspiring cards. Follow along with Laura Volpes as she shares how she used colors in Wendy's palette to blend a beautiful sunset themed card front.

Instructions

Silhouette Stamping Step 1

Step 1: Trim Distress Watercolor Cardstock to 5x3.75" and create a sunset scene by blending Wendy Vecchi Blendable Dye Inks. Use Red Geranium, Tiger Lily and Sunflower for the sky and leave a blank area at the bottom of the panel.

Silhouette Stamping Step 2

Step 2: Fill the blank area with Wendy Vecchi Blendable Dye Ink in the color Fern Green. Use Distress® Blending Brushes for a softer blend.

Silhouette Stamping Step 3

Step 3: Create a stamped silhouette effect by stamping images from the Wendy Vecchi Bravo Stamp, Die & Stencil Set with Archival Inkâ„¢ in Jet Black. Stamp the flowers at different heights and use a Dylusions Black Paint Pen to extend some of the stems.

Silhouette Stamping Step 4

Step 4: Create some shimmery droplets using a Dylusions Shimmer Spray in White Linen. For more control, add some of the solution to a Non-Stick Craft Sheet and use a paintbrush to create the drops.

Silhouette Stamping Step 5

Step 5: Stamp the sentiment with Archival Ink in Jet Black directly on the panel. Glue the panel to some black cardstock, cut to 4x5.25", and then glue everything on a Wendy Vecchi Perfect Cardstock White Card.
