Quirky People by Cheiron Brandon

Hi there crafty friends! Today I am sharing a fun colorful card using new Dina Wakley stamps and an alcohol ink background created with stencils and alcohol lift ink reinker. I love the effect of this, and think it’s the perfect pop for the black and white collage paper and black stamped images I used.

Instructions

For my background and images, I used Dina’s collage paper with the star pattern and the Quirky People stamps.

For the background, I used Raspberry, Turquoise and Dandelion Alcohol Ink and Yupo heavystock.

Step 1: I dripped on the Alcohol Inks and let them dry. The three colors blend to make all the colors of the rainbow.

Step 2: Then I dripped some more Alcohol Ink to fill the paper.

Step 3: Once the panel was dry, I took The Best Hearts and What We Do stencils along with Alcohol Lift Ink reinker and a Mini Ink Blending Tool. I put some of the Alcohol Lift Ink reinker on my Non-Stick Craft Sheet and picked it up with a Mini Ink Blending Tool with Foam.

Step 4: I then took the Ink Blending Tool with Foam and used it to lift the Alcohol Ink off the panel through the stencil.

Step 5: You can see the layered look of the Alcohol Inks and the areas that are removed.

Step 6: To create the base of the card, I adhered the star collage paper to a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock using Gel Medium. Once it was dry, I adhered it to a card base.

Step 7: I also created a frame for the panel using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Stacked Deckle. Then I adhered the frame to the panel and added a stamped image from the Quirky People set.

Step 8: The panel was adhered to some teal cardstock and then to the collaged card.

Step 9: I wanted to add a little something extra to the card, so I took a painted tag and cut some stars from it and inked the edges.

Step 10: I also cut a sentiment from the collage paper back, glued it onto some book paper and inked the edges.

Step 11: To finish the card, I adhered the sentiment and the stars to the panel.
