I’m Jess Francisco from Love, Jess or @lovejessco. I live in Chesapeake with my husband and our sons who are 7 and 4 years old. They keep me busy, so most of my crafting is done while they’re in bed.
I have been creating for as long as I can remember, but I started my card making journey in 2015. I have learned so many techniques and added so many new products to my growing list of favorites. Now that I have a few years under my belt, I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with the crafting community! You can find me on social media as @lovejessco or Love, Jess.
Instructions
Step 1: On a piece of white cardstock measuring 4” x 5.25”, stamp the umbrella image from the Bestest Friends stamp set with Ranger ‘Jet Black’ Archival ink. Stamp the image repeatedly to fill in the top three quarters or so of the card.
Step 2: Place a small amount of Perfect Pearls on a craft sheet or acrylic block and spritz with water. Use a paint brush to apply the perfect pearl and water mixture to the stamped umbrella images. If you’d like, you can add darker Perfect Pearls toward the top and get lighter in color as you move toward the bottom for a gradient effect.
Step 3: Stamp the sentiment, ‘I’m here for you rain or shine’ in Jet Black Archival Ink.
Step 4: Use a black fine liner, fill in the umbrella handles and tips.
Step 5: Mat the card front on a piece of black cardstock. Then, attach the card front to a white A2 sized card base measuring 4.25” x 5.5”.
Step 6: Your card is done! Shine it in the light to show off that purple metallic finish. The card looks stormy and gray from one angle, but shines bright purple when turned in the light. Your recipient will know you’re there for them, rain or *shine*.
