Painting with Stickles by Joy Baldwin

Make baubles that sparkle and shimmer this season with this tutorial by Joy Baldwin. Learn how easy it is to paint on sparkle by using Stickle Glitter Gels to create a lovely holiday card.

Instructions

Hi everyone, for today’s project, I made a slimline card and painted some ornaments from Simon Hurley’s Brilliant Baubles with Stickles. This is a great way to add glitter to a project. I hope you enjoy, let’s get started.

Painting with Stickles Step 1

Step 1: Trim a piece of Stark White cardstock to 8 ¼ x 3 ¼  and stamped 2 ornaments with Vermillion Ink.

Painting with Stickles Step 2

Step 2: Then stamp the larger ornament image onto a piece of sticky-backed paper (masking paper) and cover the larger image. (When trimming the masking paper, trim directly on the stamped line) Adhere the masking paper over the image.

Painting with Stickles Step 3

Step 3: Now stamp the final ornament with Library Green Ink, slightly overlapping the masked ornament.

Painting with Stickles Step 4

Step 4: Make another paper mask for the top ornament and adhere it to the image. Then stamp the string image from Brilliant Baubles, for all three ornaments in Watering Can Ink. Then carefully peel off the masking paper.

Painting with Stickles Step 5

Step 5: Now on the Non-Stick Craft Sheet, squeeze a small amount of Stickles. Using a very small paint brush to paint the ornaments. For the Green Ornament, paint The Christmas Red Stickles inside the green flowers, add Silver to the background of the ornament and Silver to the centers. For the long Ornament, use Silver, Gold, Christmas Red, and Frosted Lace. For the last Ornament, use Gold, Silver, and Frosted Lace.

Painting with Stickles Step 6

Step 6: Add Silver and Gold to the Ornament caps. Silver to the string. Add the sentiment with Jet Black Archival Ink and mount the card panel onto a slimline card base measuring 8 ½ x 3 ½ .
