Hi crafty friends! Today I'm showing you a card I made using some Simon Hurley Stamps and Dye Ink Pads. I love to make cards with the embossed resist technique. Let’s jump over to the step-by-step tutorial.
Step 1: Let's start by creating the background of the card. Place your Simon Hurley White Cardstock into your stamping tool as well as the Simon Hurley Classic Flannel background stamp just right where you need it. Before stamping use your anti-static pouch and push it all over your Cardstock.
Step 2: Stamp the background with the Ranger Clear Embossing Ink. Just do it twice to get a good cover on your cardstock. Sprinkle the Gold Embossing Powder all over your background till it’s completely covered. Remove the excess and heat emboss till everything is melted and shiny.
Step 3: To finish the background, use your Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and start to blend the lightest color Simon Hurley Later Gator all over the card panel. Then just blend the edges with the darkest color Simon Hurley Fake Plant.
Step 4: Stamp the Christmas wreath and the bow from the stamp set Posh Poinsettias with Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink on Simon Hurley White Cardstock. Then stamp the second layer of the Christmas wreath with Simon Hurley Fake Plant ink.
Step 5: To color in the rest of the image use the following Simon Hurley inks and dab them onto your Tim Holtz glass mat: Grrr!, Bee Sting, Game Over, Later Gator and Fake Plant. Sprinkle a bit of water onto the inks and use a brush to paint them out.
Step 6: Fussy cut all your images leaving a little white border on all of them.
Step 7: Use some Ranger 3D Foam Adhesive and place it on the back of the christmas wreath to give it some nice dimension. Add some Wendy Vecchi Perfect Card Adhesive on the bow and place it at the bottom of the wreath.
Step 8: Use any of the wonderful sentiments from the Simon Hurley Posh Poinsettias stamp set and stamp it using Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink on a strip of Simon Hurley white cardstock. Use some Wendy Vecchi Adhesive on the strip and place it just straight under the bow.
Step 9: To finish the card, adhere the card panel on a black card base. And that’s it, of course you can use any other stamp set from Simon Hurley to make a shiny christmas card.
