One of the most exciting and fun ways to create beautiful backgrounds on your art journal pages is to play with the vibrant and reactive Dylusions Ink Sprays. Follow along in this tutorial to add some 3D elements to your ink-sprayed background.
Step 1: Spray two consequtive pages in your journal with water and 2-3 colors of ink spray. Blot with paper towels.
Step 2: Place a large Dylusions stencil over one page and spray through the design with water. Pick the wet stencil up and place wet side down on the opposite page. Blot both pages to see the resist.
Step 3: Follow the previous steps on an extra sheet of cardstock for your bubble cut outs.
Step 4: Stamp your focal image, quotes, and text circles onto white cardstock and cut out.
Step 5: Cut out stenciled circles from your separate inked page. Go around edges with a Stabilo pencil and blend for depth.
Step 6: Stamp a shape, here the star was chosen, several times in a random pattern onto a piece of cardstock. For a reference, place your cut out focal image above the printed page. Sketch out a simple skirt pattern with your Stabilo. Blend the edges and cut out.
Step 7: Glue your focal image to her skirt and glue down to your journal page. Glue a cut out quote to a bubble cut out and place on top of your focal image with adhesive foam.
Step 8: Find some chit chat stickers and jazz them up with markers. Add some to your bubbles.
Step 9: Glue the stamped text circles down to your page. Finish by adding your cut out bubbles onto your page with adhesive foam to add some 3D elements to your spread.
