Working in muted tones can allow for a more simplified art journaling spread, especially when working in a kraft journal. The monochromatic colors allow the focal points to really “pop” and with the white side of a chipboard shape, and some white you can achieve a truly stunning page. Follow along to find out how to create this simple spread.
Step 1: A great way to begin a background is with lots of writing. You can do freeform writing or a song lyrics, and just fill it up.
Step 2: Find a focal image in the Church Doodles Collage Paper and cut it out.
Step 3: Spread the image down with Ultra Thick Gel Medium. It will look great to see your journaling peek through.
Step 4: Splatter your pages with some watered down Black Gesso to give a more grungy feel.
Step 5: Stamp a text from the Stencil Alphas Cling Stamps set onto white cardstock with Jet Black Archival Ink. Cut out and edge the sides with the stamp pad for some depth.
Step 6: Glue a Chipboard Sprig down with Ultra Thick Gel Medium. Finish with the text cut out on top.
