Texture Paste Valentine's Day Card by Miriam Prantner

In this tutorial, Miriam Prantner shares two simple ways to colorize Opaque Matte Texture Paste, as she creates this bold and bright Valentine's Day card.

Instructions

For today’s project, I doctored Opaque Matte Texture Paste in two different ways to create a Valentine’s Day card with a retro feel.

Step 1: Trim a panel of Wendy Vecchi Perfect Cardstock White to 4 x 5 1/4”.  Center the Simon Hurley Flip Flop Circles stencil over it, and mask off two rows of half circles at the top and bottom borders.

Step 2: Using a blending tool, ink these areas with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink.

Step 3: Remove stencil, wipe clean, and flip. Line the stencil up so that the already inked half circles create a whole circle with the stencil openings. Mask off top and bottom two rows. Using a palette knife, place some Matte Opaque Texture paste onto Non Stick Craft Sheet. Spritz twice with Lumberjack Plaid Spray Stain. Use palette knife to mix color in and spread through stencil.

Step 4: Use palette knife to mix color in and spread through stencil.  Remove stencil and allow to dry.

Step 5: Use any stencil with a large opening, place stencil over a Wendy Vecchi Perfect Cardstock White Panel. Secure it in place with masking tape. Spread Opaque Matte Texture Paste through stencil/opening using Simon Hurley Scraper tool to achieve even coverage. Remove stencil and allow to dry.

Step 6: Treat dried surface with Anti-Static Pouch. Stamp and emboss letters from Dina Wakley Media Stamp Block Alpha stamp set using Emboss It Clear ink and Red Embossing Powder. Because the dried embossing paste may slightly warp the cardstock, secure the panel to a stamping platform with masking tape to get the best result. Using a stamping platform also allows you to ink multiple times to ensure even coverage.

Step 7: Assemble the card. Adhere the panel withe stenciled circles to a Wendy Vecchi Perfect Cardstock card base with foam adhesive. Cut out each of the embossed letters and adhere them to the stenciled panel with foam adhesive.
