Simon Hurley create. Spring Card by Cassie Trask

Springtime vibes! In this tutorial, Cassie Trask creates this beautiful card using Simon Hurley Create. Solar Sprays and Solar Pastes for that shimmery background. The bold green and gold polka dots set the stage for a delicate floral wreath and heartfelt sentiment—perfect for brightening someone’s day!

Instructions

Hello everyone! For today’s project I made a vibrant Spring card to show off how great Simon Hurley’s Solar Sprays and Solar Pastes look on top of the inks. They really add a shine that looks so beautiful.  Let’s get started with our card.

Step 1: Trim a piece of Stark White cardstock down to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”, and mask off the top of the panel using masking paper. Blend Later Gator ink onto the bottom of the panel using a Mini Ink Blending Tool.

Step 2: Using that same blending tool, blend Fake Plant along the edges of your panel.

Step 3: Spray Golden Hour Solar Spray through one of the stencils from the Polka Dot Assortment. Let that dry.

Step 4: Spread Cross My Heart Solar Paste through another one of the Polka Dot Assortment Stencils using a palette knife from the Paste Tool Set.

Step 5: Stamp the image from Everyday Wreaths onto Stark White Cardstock using the Jet Black Archival Ink, cover that with Super Fine Detail embossing powder, and heat set your image.

Step 6: Watercolor your image using Rosy Cheeks and Later Gator ink.

Step 7: Die cut your image and stamp your sentiment onto a piece of Stark White Cardstock and trim that down using scissors.

Step 8: Assemble your card panel and attach it to a card base.
